Families and Children at Wakefield Quaker Meeting

Quakerism offers families a gentle, supportive space where children and adults can grow spiritually together. Quakers believe that there is that of God in everyone so every voice matters—children are encouraged to ask questions, be curious, and find their own path.

Children’s Meeting

We’re excited to welcome young people and families to Wakefield Meeting! We now have a small but growing Children’s Meeting.

  • When?
Whenever young people are present—no need to let us know in advance.
  • How it works:
Children spend the first 15 minutes in the Meeting Room with adults.
Then they head downstairs for their own session.
  • What we do: Stories, arts and crafts, games, and conversations about things that matter to children. Every week is a little different!

Safety and Care

Children’s Meeting is led by members and regular attenders at Wakefield Meeting.

  • All adults involved are DBS checked.
  • There are always at least two adults present.
  • You can read our safeguarding policy here

After the session, children rejoin the adults to share what they’ve been doing.
